It seems the UI is overly simplified in this installment. This is a feature other civ games I have I believe so I don't understand why this one doesn't. I want to be able to show just the titanium or artifact tiles, and have them highlighted on the minimap so I don't need to search the terrain every time. Thanks yea I know about the minimap options but I'm talking about something more immersive. I'm guessing that turning down graphic options would help also. Simply scrolling halfway across a large map hurts. I admit my PC is dated so it affects me often. Sorry, rest assured it bothers me as well. I'm sure a really powerful PC would help and seems to be the only option. As far as I know no modding or anything can help. I tried googling this in past, but this whole black overlay oddity seems to be on the hush, hush. It happens to me everytime I load a game from the main menu, and Civ V also. It happens to me as well, and it carried over from Civ V. I'm about done with this game since there are so many other things sources of frustration. You say even yours does it (I'm guessing yours is good). I don't have the best computer but it's better quality than the minimum and recommended system requirements. It just makes no sense to why this happens. I wish there was a way to post pictures here so you knew exactly what I was talking about. Ok thanks sounds good but what can we do about it? I rapidly scroll between continents often because there is no feature highlight option on the minimap and have to search for every little thing manually, e.g. Interestingly enough it doesnt happen much during the alerts of other players turns so I suspect that its intelligently loading assets during the opposing player turn phase. Even my 660TI has that happen but usually only when rapidly moving between continents.
